Hyundai has started production of the new IONIQ 3 at its İzmit plant in Türkiye.

Hyundai has officially started production of the new IONIQ 3 electric car at its İzmit manufacturing plant in Türkiye. The milestone makes the IONIQ 3 the first fully electric vehicle produced at Hyundai Motor Türkiye's facility.

The new compact EV is designed primarily for European customers and is expected to go on sale from September 2026, depending on the market.

A New Compact Electric Hyundai

The IONIQ 3 is Hyundai's latest compact electric hatchback and is designed to make EV ownership more accessible while maintaining the technology and design language of the IONIQ family.

Hyundai says the model has been developed around everyday usability, combining compact dimensions with a spacious interior and modern electric technology.

Production in Türkiye

Hyundai has invested approximately €250 million in the İzmit facility to prepare it for IONIQ 3 production.

Hyundai is also expanding its local EV manufacturing capabilities with a new battery assembly facility.
